A native of Hungary and a Torontonian since the mid-80s, Ferenc (like ‘Frank’, only with a spelling that will be familiar to sports fans as well as music lovers) has been trading the financial markets and designing trading strategies since 2008. Bull markets and bear markets, gold crazes and silver meltdowns, index rallies and flash crashes: during his more than a decade in the trenches, he has seen and done it all. Along the way, he has developed his unique hands-on expertise in technically motivated directional trading with a sharp focus on US and Canadian index, currency and commodity products and relatively short, intra-month timeframes.
Ferenc holds an MBA and an MSc in IT from Central European University and a teaching degree from the University of Toronto. He is a member of the Canadian Society of Technical Analysts. As an educator, his research interests include the role of intuition in short-term investing. He writes on various subjects regularly in the Remek! blog.
Ferenc is Visiting Lecturer at Central European University, where he teaches the course Financial Trading Design and Technology in the Master of Science in Business Analytics and the Master of Science in Finance programs. He lives in Toronto, and can be reached at ferenc @remek.ca
